Konsolda PlayStation’a özel olarak piyasaya sürülen Deathloop, Yılın Oyunu ödülü de dahil olmak üzere 9 kategoride adayoldu. Sony’nin birinci parti oyunlarından Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, 6 kategoride yarışacak. It Takes Two ve Psychonauts 2 ise 5 kategoride aday gösterildi. Ödül için yarışan yaklaşık 70 yayınlanmış oyunun yanı sıra henüz piyasaya sürülmemiş 5 oyun var.
PlayStation, The Game Awards 2021’de Yılın Oyunu kategorisine iki oyun sokmayı başarırken, Xbox Game Studios ve Bethesda toplam 20 oyun aday göstererek bu alanda liderliği yakaladılar.
